The bulb number is # 4157NA. Its an amber colored bulb.
The headlight assembly generally has to be removed by lifting up the retaining tabs that secure it to the front assy. Then remove a rubber separator cover and the signal lite bulb should be just below that, easily seen. Pull out the old bulb and install the replacement one. Assemble in the reverse order.

I opened the hood and looked around - how cramped. I examined the outside and decided it was too complex for me. I thought I could just change a light bulb, but at 85 years old, I guess I can't.
I'll take it to Sears tomorrow and have them install it.
I appreciate your help. Thanks Hal

The lamp was $4.99. Labor was $42.50. Time expended by mechanic -between 5 and 10 minutes. Unfortunately they wouldn't admit non-mechanics into the shop area so I still don't know how he did it.
Maybe I can download a video or sketch of how it's done. It's awfullly expensive and I'd like to do the next one myself.
AT the same time, you splend $15 - $20,000 for a car and you can't even change a light bulb. Maybe the designers need to go back to the drafting board and make this operation simpler. Perhaps it's just me.
My turn signal works now. Thanks for the help, Hanky.
