2013 Buick Verano Help Please
So about a month ago. I was door dashing and my check engine light popped on. I drove to auto zone and they ran a code reader and told me I needed to replace my fuel pump. I have 2 one in the tank and one in the front of the engine. I logged onto your mechanic website and scheduled to have someone come out and change my fuel pump that cost me $1000. As I already work a full-time job from 6 AM to 3:30 PM and I DoorDash from 4 PM to 7 PM every night. And that is just for me to pay minimal bills. I am a single mom of two with my 18-year-old lives with me. He just graduated high school and is currently looking for employment, but I live in Las Vegas and the rent is outrageous including everything else you have to pay for so I do not have cash on hand to pay to have my car fixed. That is why I logged onto your mechanic and scheduled the replacement so that I would be able to pay with a credit card. Probably too much information. Sorry! So I got the fuel pump replaced and for two weeks my car ran fine. Then one morning I get in my car to go to work and it had a hum sound that wasn’t there the night before I continued to drive to work and it started to stall on me when I slowed down or had to stop at a red light. It never fully stalled out. I did make it to work. I had a guy at work run his code reader on. It read code P0172 or 0171 I don’t remember. But he cleared my codes and I was able to make it home in the afternoon. I then again reached out to your mechanic to have them come back out and see if the fuel pump was faulty. They sent a guy out. He said it was my fuel rail pressure sensor Which I paid him $800 on my credit card. And I drove around one block and it did the same exact thing and I did forget to mention when the check engine light popped on so did the check stability track light. As well as the screen read ck stability track, and something about reducing speed, which I was told it was called limp mode. So back to the story I called the guy back and sent him a picture of the dashboard and he said that he would come back the next day. Then he sent me a picture of a map sensor wiring and $90 and said he thinks that’s what it is. I felt a little taken advantage of, so I called your mechanic and told them that I did not feel comfortable with this mechanic anymore and would like a new one. they informed me that they have no record of him, changing my fuel rail, pressure sensor and basically I was bamboozled out of $800 because he did not inform the company that he was doing the work and was doing it as side work. So they said they were not responsible for that but they would send a new mechanic out to check the sensor. They did send a new mechanic out. His name was Marcos as well as charging me another $150 assessment fee, which I was already charged the previous time he informed me the fuel rail pressure sensor was never changed and that’s what needed to be done. I paid another $166 for him to come out the next day and replace it and guess what it’s still doing the same exact thing. But now the hum is louder it almost sounds like a lawnmower, but not as loud and if you unhooked the battery and hook the battery back up, you could probably get six blocks max before all the lights pop on and it does the same exact thing again. I am at a loss need some direction PLEASE
From what you describe—check engine light, stability track warning, limp mode, stalling, and a hum that’s getting worse—it’s likely more than just the fuel pump or sensors. P0171/P0172 codes point to a fuel mixture issue, which could involve a bad fuel pump, clogged injectors, vacuum leaks, or even wiring/ECU problems. Given the repeated unsuccessful repairs and multiple mechanics, the safest route now is to get a thorough diagnostic at a reputable shop that can trace the electrical system, fuel delivery, and engine control module properly. This will likely https://tropical-casino.com/ save money long-term instead of chasing parts blindly.
