One of the good things to come from push button start/ign is some manufacturers programmed the vehicle computer to refuse to allow the locks to lock the doors if the remote was left inside the vehicle. It also helped if the remote was misplaced in the vehicle and you couldn't lock it , you knew it was at least in the vehicle ,,,somewhere !
