I need to know what would make this 3.8 liter stammer and then idle up to normal and sometimes stall when cold. Could it be a cold idle control on the fuel injection system. The car has 175,000 mile on it. Also, can someone tell what is the recomended mileage for replacing the timing chain and gears, as well as the lifters and camshaft? It already has that high mileage loap when idling. thanks, Mike

i would recomend cleaning and lubing the egr valve. those digital egrs are very common to cause problems like that. but 9/10 times they can be cleaned rather than replaced.
