To be sure, I know this. I just don't want to start taking things apart without having a good idea what I'm getting into. That's another reason I wanted the exploded view diagram. It would also be nice if it were possible to obtain an exerpt from the factory shop manual describing how to adjust the clamp on the telescoping steering column. Pretty sure the screw only came out from the lower cover. The broken part piece though, that's a real head-scratcher.

 

I just made a major discovery that might help other people. The steering column I have isn't described as being capable of tilt and telescoping, the actual phrase is "tilt and travel". Doing an internet search using those terms will be far more productive.
