Question about FI fuel lines
1992 Buick Regal GS 3800 V6
My fuel lines have cracks(looks like someone took a utlity knife and put in 5mm cuts randomly down the side of the hose) in the outer layer, both the inlet and return lines, the car only has 137,000 miles on it.
I'm talking about the hoses that go through the engine compartment, they say "Not repairable" on the hose.
The hose is not deformed just got cracks all along it.
So What does this mean? Can someone tell me how these hoses are made, and is there a nylon tube inside the hose that actually contains the fuel?
I'm thinking that the hoses are nothing but protecting a Nylon tube that was inserted into the rubber hose before it was preformed to shape.
Anyone cut one of those hoses apart to see what's inside?
