Dimming Lights

Dimming Lights
Other than buying and installing a LED dimmer switch, is there a way to use the original OEM light switch to dim LED replacement bulbs that I've installed in the dash and sorted accessories? The car in question is a 64 Buick Wildcat. Any ideas, threads, web sights, or instructions, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

https://electronics.stackexchange.co...ostat-to-contr Here's some ideas that are mentioned. In general LED's will operate at a lower voltage than standard filament lamps. Some can even change color with different voltage changes.Popular for tail lights, side markers and other application these days.
As I recall some of the dimmers may actually dim the negative voltage for dash lighting. Seems I ran across that somewheres and it surprised me.

Thank-You so much for your help. have tried a few different approaches and so far no results. On the up-side...I've found a project that I think will keep me busy for a while until i come up with the complete solution. Again...Thank-you for your input.

Must mean me, no other answers? Your welcome but didn't do anything, nice idea but sometimes more time, money and maintenance spent on good ideas.
i was serious about building a rail rider maybe 20 years back but never actually got there. See if I can locate photo. Nope, not since forum changed everything......
