Default 99 Park Avenue Ultra brake light and chime

I know this has been discussed but I'm out of suggestions. The brake warning light and chime are on again. I've disconnected the wire at the pedal switch. The front brakes are not worn. I even disconnected the sensor at the brake master cylinder. The chime went away for a day and came right back. Other than disconnecting the chime itself (I can live with the light being on) I don't know what to do next. Any ideas?
Thanks
Andy

Just to follow up on this, in case anyone else has the same problem. I have relieved the symptoms at least. I removed the BCM from the vehicle, opened it up and popped off the little round speaker attached to the solid state board. That's the chime. The brake light is still on, but I can live with that. The brakes are all in good shape and work fine. So far I've seen no ill effects.
