window works when it wants. will go down all by itself. it used to take a couple of switch actuations to get it to work, but now it hardly works at all. motor? controller? switch? I have no clue & the dealers & parts outlets are no help. The parts are very expensive & not returnable!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

you mean that it literally goes down by itself? or the switch only works once in a while?

The window does both - goes down by itself & works when it wants, which now is very seldom.

when it goes down, does it go down as if you were making it go down, or does it just sort of drop?

It goes down just as it should if you activated the switch.

wow..i would think that it has to either be in the switch, or there are wires grounded agaisnt each other, activating the window. have you tried removing the door panel, and seeing how everything looks? something else you could do, get a switch that works, from a junkyard,or just by any switch at a parts store. remove the panel and run the switch wires to the new switch, and see if it works, if so, its your switch.
