Hi everyone,

Just picked up a '93 Regal GS coupe with 263,000kms on
the clock. The car was owned by a friend of mine who
maintained it well, but also used it as his daily driver so it's got
the usual wear and tear.

The car is in overall good shape, but it does need some
work. I was hoping that someone here can help out, or at least
point me in the right direction.

Here's the big issues:

1. The windshield wipers work fine, but they won't turn 'off'.
The previous owner replaced the control stalk with a used one,
but that didn't fix it. Anybody know what needs to be replaced?
Is this a simple fix, or am I in for a ton of work?

2. The AM/FM/CD radio works great (the car is equipped with
the Concert Sound II system), except for the volume control - I
can't adjust it. Luckily, it's at a comfortable listening level, but I'd
like to correct this problem eventually. Can I fix this myself, or
should I just replace the head unit? If so, any idea where I can
get a stock replacement head unit cheap?

3. The "ANTI-LOCK" light comes on after a few seconds of
driving. The previous owner said that one of the ABS sensors
needs to be replaced, but he's not sure which one (he thinks is't
the driver's side front). Is there any way I can run some kind of
diagnostic myself to verify this?

These are the biggest issues with the car, but this is only my
second day owning the car, so there might be more things will
'pop' up in the coming days and weeks.

Thanks very much in advance.

Could be the park relay internally in the wipers, but also could be the relay sticking for them

Unless you own a oscilliscope, which tend to be pricey, see if you know
someone with a scanner, that'll tell you, it is the sensor tho

Hi iruleyou05,

Thanks for all the great tips!

I've taken your advice and got a new AM/FM head unit off eBay.
It works perfect.

I haven't had the opportunity yet, but I will definitely look into the
park relay for the wipers.

The ABS light still comes on, but it hasn't proven to be an issue
yet so I will wait for better weather to see if I can get it to my
friend's shop to hook the car up to a scanner.

Thanks again.
