I thought through this several times for different cars. In the long run, you are better off selling this car and just buying the GS w/ supercharger. You get so many more items than just the upgraded engine - such as transmission, brakes, suspension and or interior trim upgrades (leather steering wheel)

Do the math to convince yourself. If you sell the LS and buy the GS, can you do the swap for this amount? I'd suggest getting the GS, and change the trim to show "LS badging "...

I agree.

People tend to think that they can just drop a factory supercharger on any 3800. There are many differences, including internal mechanical changes.

Now that's a different idea. I couldn't fully answer that question but imagine sensors would need changing, fuel injectors, pulley sizes, tranny reprogram and on. The entire CPU would req. a stock program. My point being everything to go supercharged would have to be reverted. Intercooler removal if car has one, pressure relief for overboost may be a problem or part of supercharger.

I'd look for a new supercharger, the Buicks weren't rated that much more supercharged, today the power is there minus charger. http://www.automobile-catalog.com/pe...ercharged.html An example, not much to work with but going backwards? Good luck on project.
