Strange computer code on my 97 Lesabre

It was running a little rough so I took it to the shop to see what the codes are. (It was a hand held ODBII scanner).
Well the codes that came back are puzzling !
thi sis the exact text that it keeps spewing out:
"manufacturer control : auxiliary in, auxiliary out"
Even when cleared the code come back instantly when started, and the check engine light stays on ( although some times it doesn''''''''t come on for a few moments.).
Any thoughts ?
