knock sensor perhaps? I am having similar issues as you also, but i just replaced the harmonic balancer and the crank sensor, which helped, but still doesn''t run correctly. I have a 95 Lesabre with the 3800 engine, and it has troubles idling and often will out of no where stop running. now I found another problem that my car needs a new ECU because the computer cant link with the system to read my check engine light. Just bought the car about a week ago for $600 because at the time, it ran with no problem, only harmonic balancer was making some noise.

 

the sensor by the wp is the cam position sensor. it controls the injector pulses.

 

its OBD 1.5? why does buick have to be special? starting to become a bigger headache than its worth.

 

well, we got the cam sensor replaced and it''s still doing the same thing....odd though, with it just unplugged the car would not start at all. when we took it out completely, it started right up...but still died. it''s running a bit better.

 

iirc the 92s will ground both the crank sensor, and the cam sensor, thru the cam sensor. so thats why it wouldnt start with it unplugged.








but im starting to lean towards the icm. when it was tested, was it tested multiple times? if so, how many. bc those can be affected by heat. and the testing machines can take from 3-10 runs (depending on the tester) to get to a normal running temp.
