on a 94 buick lesabre the passenger front door is locked shut and i cannot get it open, is there anything anybody knows of to resolve this problem? if you press the lock/unlock button it make the noise and if pressing lock will move down but i had to push the little silver indicater up to get it to "unlock" any help is appreciated

It sounds as though the linkage to the central locking actuator has come adrift inside the door.
Remove the door trim and you should see the problem quite easily.
