No Headlights 1996 LeSabre
Hi, I just bought a 1996 LeSabre and it does not have working headlights. I have done lots of research already but I was hoping for further assistance. Specifically, I have no working low or high beams, or running lamps. When I press the buttons they do light up the indicator on the button. I have no instrument lamps either. Flash to pass does not work. HOWEVER I do have working turn signals, hazard lamps, brake lights, and reverse lights.
I do not have Daytime Running Lamps or Twilight Sentinel. From what I’ve read I know so far to be checking fusible links as well as voltages in and out of the LCM as well as to investigate the instrument lamp dimmer. The reason I’m seeking more help is that from everything I’ve read I have not seen this specific combination of working and not. The fusible link for headlights also powers brake lights so I will check but it’s basically ruled out, the LCM failing usually still allows flash to pass to work, etc.
This is a 65,000 mile car with no other electrical issues and a solid maintenance history.

Being that this car has no headlight related options (no Twilight Sentinel, Daytime Running Lamps, automatic dimmer, etc) it’s fairly pointless to even have a computer controlling the lamps. I’ve decided to simply convert to an old school push/pull headlight switch. This can be accomplished using 90% of the factory harness and only 3 wires will cut/change. The switch in the door and the computer can be entirely eliminated with just 3 wires and the analog switch. All fuses/breakers will remain in circuits providing appropriate safety.
