Our ABS light is on and I would like the possible causes and hopefully solutions without spending a fortune at the dealership. We hope to take a trip from Tampa to St. Louis next week and don't want a serious problem during the trip.

The most popular ABS light on is because of a wheel speed sensor failing from a short or open condition..

I replaced my hub wheel assembly to repair this problem on my Park Avenue.. $120 just for the wheel hub/sensor assembly. Identifying which wheel is by measuring for about 1K OHMS from the sensors on each wheel either at the connector on the ABS controller under the hood or at each connector at the wheels.

ABS is a safety feature for hard braking conditions.
