Angry Please Help! Buick 3.6 crankshaft position sensor

Hello,

I have a 2005 Buick Lacrosse with the 3.6 V6 V VT. Check engine light came on and now it has code P0336 crankshaft position sensor. I can't find that sensor anywhere! I've looked all over the internet and can't find anything on the Buick 3.6.. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Its behind the harmonic balancer. You need the special GM tool to remove it. It's the same as a regular pulley puller, just the shaft is longer. Btw. If you change that sensor, you have to do a re-learn on it.

Make sure you buy OEM on that part. Buick is picky on replacing with after market. I just replaced mine 2 weeks ago.

Also, if you change the crankshaft sensor, you better change the camshaft sensor as well. It's always better to replace in pairs.
