//--></>I have a 97 Buick LeSabre with 178k miles. I am using coolant and the dealer tells me that the plenum is leaking and not the water pump. I have looked at the water pump and see no visible signs of coolant residue but I can smell the coolant. Any advice, is this true?

Suggest you check the heater hoses. There is a plastic elbow on one that feeds into the block. The o-rings or the elbow itself often leak intermitantly.
