Default Bad handling on ice

I'm a new member and have a 2002 LeSabre that handles fine on dry pavement. But let a little black ice come into the picture and it becomes "squirrely"! It doesn't break into a full slide, but acts like it wants to. It is very disconcerting. I thought it could be the tires, even though they are new Good Years with not much more than a 1000 miles on them. Any ideas?

Are they winter or all season tires? That would make a huge difference in handling, especially on ice, but regardless, hitting black ice no matter what tire you have can cause it to go a little "squirrely"

I agree, all season tires are not that good in medium snow and perform poor on ice.
