Default 2004 Rainier Burning Smell

I have a 2004 Rainier, 108K miles, original owner. I have had a burning smell in the engine compartment for past two weeks. Dealer couldn't find anything. A different mechanic said it could be from the fan clutch. If the fan clutch is beginning to fail, could it result in a burning smell?

Since you did not offer a description of what the odor smelled like, could an animal /rodent have made a home on the top of your engine?

I had the same problem and i threw my curling iron away because it was the curling iron that made it smell burnt. i got a new curling iron and i don't curl it as often. if your still not curling it then it should go after a couple of washes as long as your still not curling it.. you should invest in some cream that smells good that protects your hair from heat and stuff and maybe it will help.
