1989 Regal Odometer

Odometer stopped @ 31,000mi. The instrument
cluster or I should say the speedometer is digital
and working. The odometer is "old style" and I've
looked around for a Cable connection but can't find
one. Do I need to pull the dash and the cluster to fix
this ????
