i have a 86 somersetregal that i bought from a friend with 48,000 miles with everything stock. i was driving it one day and i started to idle rough and surge .then it cut off . I tried t start it but i wouldnt start.When it finally started and i got it home , i wouldnt start no more.i took the time to tinker with it to get it started and it did but the idle was still rough and it backfires like hell![img]smileys/smiley11.gif[/img]the ile will not stay and if i let go of the pedal it would shut off . i took a look at the spark plugs and they were wet. i had cleaned them and put them back in and attempted to start the car .when it did start, i got the same results.i asked a mechanic what cud be the problem and he told me that the air charge sensor cu be bad and i changed it but it is still hard to start with the rough idle and backfiring.
