Check the EGR valve, very often trouble like this came from a leaky EGR valve

Cleaning the air intake and the vacuum system may solve many problem.
For the air intake just shoot carb cleaner near the throttle butterfly.
There are stuff sold in can that you plug on a vacuum line, the car
suck the stuff and the system is cleaned.

Lots of possibillities there.. but does sound like plug wires,
maybe the choke system.. EGR.. staying on.. let it run and stop and
check a plug see if it is black.sooty.

Maybe camshaft senor...Crank sensor.. Computer, wires, grounds.

Check codes.. Camshaft sensor code could also mean Crank sensor.

No codes. check for good Ignition Module. no crossover sparking.

Good luck

Lots of stuff .. fuel, ignition, timing, PCM screwy.

Some Ideas here:

READ THE CODES FIRST.

NO CODES>. Disconnect battery for 20 seconds. REset PCM

Choke stuck. HEH.. just kidding. Intake Air sensor.??.

The Park has the Knock Sensor system to retard 10 degrees if it hears a knock. Bad fuel. Sometimes you dont get what you pay for.

At cold start the fuel system injects all cylinders with fuel at the same time first then goes to pulsing.

How hot is the incomming air. Mine runs poor in heat. Hit the throttle and it cuts out with 87 octane, at least that is what i bought.

Be sure if you have a supercharger you are using good fuel. Pull the plugs to see if they get wet, black or whatever from fuel or dry from lack of fuel after it dies.

I have learned recently Camshaft sensor controls the spark advance system only.. can cause irregular running. Wont cause engine stop.

CRankshaft sensor controls Firing order ignition, fuel injector, reference to TDC, and RPM guage and information.

Plug wires are critical with these engines. Dont ever poke a hole in them(as service manual warns)

(Ive been reading my Service Manual)

Good luck. again

ive heard many sensors that would not cause ur problem.

cam sensor failure would cause ur car to run, just run on default setting and ud have worse mpg

crank sensor would stop the spark reference which the car wouldnt run at all.

air temp sens would makeur car run w too much fuel as well.

knock sensor wouldnt have any effect on idle. only higher rpms.

the two things i would check first would be the egr valve and the i.c.m.

first try cleaning the carbon soot out of the egr. u can use carb cleaner and screwdriver to scrape.
