Unhappy Help Please Anyone 03 century 3.1

hey u guy I have a 03 century 3.1. For some odd reason the temp gauge go's back and fourth then its stay in the red and temp light comes on then goes off then stay on and car slows down. Has anybody experienced this problem before. Then the car stalled out and wouldn't start for bout 5 mins. I was going to take it to autozone but the check engine light is not coming on. I am really confused on what going on with this car.

Check your oil. Does it look normal, or does it look like a pale milkshake? If it looks like a milkshake, you may have coolant getting into your oil, possibly from a leaking UIM gasket. If the oil looks fine, make sure your coolant level is fine.

Usually one of the first things to check are the battery cable connections. They do get corroded under those cable terminal covers and can cause unbelievable problems.
They may look OK, but still have a layer of insulating corrosion between the cable and the battery. The best way to clean is to remove the negative cable first and leave it off then remove the positive (red) cable and clean the connection then replace the positive cable after that is done and the cable bolt is covered connect the negative cable. Let us know if that gets rid of the problem. The car may run a little rough until the computer relearns your driving habits since some short term memory is lost when the cables are disconnected. The radio stations will be lost also and will need to be reset.

Someone can also strip the terminals into the battery with the bolts as well.
