I would have to say neither, when you're thinking newer engines (like 90's and newer) we are talking something close to a hp an inch. Now a 5.7L v8 is gonna give you atleast 300hp or I'm a unkeys monkle.
but then again I'm a hairy son of a gun, so you might not wana trust me.

I realize this an old post, but though it would be good to have it clarified for anyone doing a search.
The 93 RM has 180 HP from an LO5 engine. They are TBI motors, and not the LT1 which has 265 HP. The torque output is 300 lb. ft. There is a version of the LO5 in some of the 93 Caprice 9C1s that have 210 HP. The only differences are the cam, injectors, larger Y pipe, and computer chip. It can be swapped into the RM with those changes. The 9C1 may have also come with a 3.42 gear with or without a posi. The rear housing for the 93 9C1 should bolt into the RM sedan, but it is substantially narrower than the wagon rear. The ones with a posi have a tag on one of the cover bolts. The SPID (white tag on the trunk lid/D pillar) code for the posi is G80. The SPID code for the 3.23 is GU5. I believe the 3.42 is GU6.
Some of the wagons have 3.23 gears with a posi, and some had 3.23 gears with an open differential, but most had 2.73 gears with an open differential. I do not think the 2.73 gear rears came with a posi.
