Question Is there a way to disable the ABS?

On my 1993 Roadmaster? Mine's a clunker with lots of issues but it gets me from A to B. But the one issue that bugs me the most is my brakes\ABS. When the ABS light goes on, the brakes work fine. When the light is off, when I press the brake pedal it goes either stiff for a second and\or one of the front brakes work. I press the pedal again and the car will brake one side then go normal. Once the light goes on, everything is fine.

I don't want to keep this car for long but I'd like to disable the ABS so the brakes will work all the time especially since my car is soon due for its emissions test.

Any way to disable it? Thanks.
