Replacing hood ornament 1992

How do you replace the hood ornament? I do not want to dent the area. Seems by looking at the new ornament that there is positve groove that is available to slip towards the front of the car?

on my park ave, there is a nut from the inside of the hood. idk if the riv is the same, but check it out.
