Default code P0101

My mom has a 2003 rendezous. Her car is dieing after running for a while. She has the pending code P0101 I know it's "Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Range/Performance Problem" She has had the code cleared over and over again and has had the MAP sensor replaced and is still getting the code. I have checked the wiring, for vacuum leaks. Unless I'm missing something I don't know what. I need help.
Thank you
Jerry

Has the MAF sensor been put on backwards? Is the arrow pointing towards the TB?

Upon replacing the MAF sensor did you notice if the throttle butterfly was clean?
Sometimes a gummed up butterfly will contribute to stalling.

No I didn't see if the butterfly was clean. I will check them when she gets home from work. Today mom called and said the the car died today on her way to work and when she went to start it the car would rev up and down. Now is going on?

My mom said that she has noticed that her car starts doing this when it gets around 1/8th of a tank on the fuel gauge. Could the fuel pump be the problem?

Possibly. Maybe the fuel gauge is off, and its showing more than is actually in it. When the car is off, and the key is turned to "on" does the fuel pump prime like it should, or does it sound like its cutting in and out? Try this with 1/8th of a tank, and with more.

The pump does come on. I also put 3 gal of gas in it too. Got it started and to her house. But everytime you let off the gas like to turn or stop it will die.

It could be the fuel pressure regulator not working properly
