Hello

I am wondering if anyone knows why after an oil change recentlyon my mom's 1999 Regal there is a whining noise upon acceleration. It happens at about 2500 RPM and then dissipates as the RPM increases. It also tends to happen only in first gear. The car is in excellent shape overall, and has 75000 kms (46000 miles). The oil shop was out of synthetic 10W30, so instead they put in synthetic 5W30. I definitely saw the oil go in, and there are no lights on the dashboard indicating a problem. The whining is fairly noticeable even with music on. I'm supposed to inherit this car within the next year! Am I heading into problems?
