Supercharger swap
#1
Hi everyone,
I own a 1998 Camaro 3800, and have been looking into giving it a little boost. I did a little reasearch & found that from 1997 to 2004 the regal came with an optinal supercharged 3.8L V6. Its the same 3800 series II that the camaro has. So if I were to find a supercharged 97-04 regal in a junk yard with a working supercharger, how hard would it be to take it off & have it installed on the camaro?
How much boost did the stock S/Cer make?
How much HP did the engine produce after the S/Cer?
Thanks for your time,
-Stig

stock boost is 7 psi. series sc is rated for 240 hp and 280 torque.
now if you find a wrecked bonne, grand prix, regal, or riviera, you would be better off swapping the whole engine.
the L36 you have, has a different internals than the L67 that is sc.
if you just got the m90 charger, you can invest 500-1000 easy on making that work with your setup.
if you fing a sc 3800 (L67) make sure to buy the ecu and engine harness from the same car. that will make the swap much less painful.
