radiator sludge
hi. im scared, but boyfriend isn't. but anyways, I NEED, (me) just need some advice or reassurement from other Buick owners about what may be going on with my 2000 Regal.
It overheated the other day. Owned for a year now, never happened before or came close. Replaced thermostat on the spot, (happened to be an auto store i could walk to) but gage was still climbing when driving home. Been sitting in driveway for a week now cuz im nervous. Let it idle to get to running temp, (dead center C|||||||H), and squeezed upper radiatior hose. I COULD SQUEEZE IT. No running water right? We think theres a clog. BUT--
my heater isnt working now either. Didn't know this because its been so hot in Sacramento. But it's not blowing hot.
We're thinking to flush the radiator because it has all that brown sludge in the coolant reservoir and radiator. Here's my issue..........
What is proper way to do this? Does heater have any relevance? Can i damage anything else by doing this?
PLEASE JUST RELIEVE MY ANXIETY WITH YOUR KNOWLEDGE & TIPS!
thank you,
kimberley
