Default occasional starting problem

I have a 2000 Buick Regal GSE that sometimes will not start right away. Usually after several tries it will start. Twice it has quit on me while driving on city streets. Once it started up again on the first try and the other time it took 4 attempts. There is no code stored in the computer.

The MAF sensor is new but has not cured the problem. I recently had a new fuel pump installed due to an unrelated issue.

could be the fuel pressure regulator leaking pull the vacuum hose off of the regulator and see if raw fuel leaks out depending on how bad the leak is it could dump out of take a while

An intermittent functioning crank sensor will give the same symptoms you are getting.

Thanks for that tip! I got a crank position sensor code a long time ago, but it hasn't shown up for many months. Maybe that's it.

Did this fix your issue? I had the same problem on a 94 and crank sensor fixed it.
