My Regal 3.8 makes a funny noise on the left hand side of the engine when accelerating, it sounds like when you tape a playing card between the spokes of your bicycle... as soon as you are on speed, the noise is gone.


Any one any idea?

 

Could be your harmonic balancer (also called crank pulley damper, torsional damper or vibration damper). Just had that problem with an Olds Cutlass of mine.
