need help...1980 regal
I have a1980 regal, 4.9 liter. Last week it began having trouble starting in the cold without pouring gas into carb. About 3 days ago i started it and it ran rough for about 30seconds then cut off. Its not getting fuel from the pump and wheni try pouring gas into carb it still wont start...whats goin on

First you need to confirm that you have spark coming to the plugs. How long have they been in there?
Once you know spark is coming to the plugs then, engine off, Air cleaner off, choke held open, work the throttle a couple of times.you should see a few squirts of gas going into the carb bores. If you see that, look down into the venturies with a flashlite and see if you see any puddling of gas in the intake manifold, if so, it is flooded and you need to hold the throttle to the floor while cranking and it will eventually start.
If you don't get the squirts fuel is not getting to the carburetor and that can be caused by a plugged/frozen filter/line or the fuel pump is tired and needs to be replaced. I realize the vehicle is up there in years, but they were a good car and sometime due to age we neglect maintenance. They are a very easy vehicle to maintain compared to today's vehicles. Lots of folks are looking to buy them for that very reason.
Also the filter if I remember correctly is located at the carburetor inlet and the filter may have a nylon anti-drain valve in it that gets stuck sometimes. Make sure it is free to move. Make sure the choke butterfly is free to close when cold and that the choke pull-off opens it once started.

Plugs were replaced about a month ago....yesterday i removed fuel line at the carb and got no gas when trying to crank...so i figure its a bad fuel pump...but when i pour gas in the carb i should get at least a couple seconds of run time right? I dont get anything

Take out any one of the spark plugs and see if it is wet or dry. If wet , the engine is flooded and you may need to take out a couple more and dry them off. After reinstalling them don't pump the accelerator pedal when starting just hold it to the floor until it starts.
If dry , no fuel getting to the cylinders.
Make sure you have spark getting to the plugs when cranking .
