Default 92 Regal 3.8 starter removal

Hello everyone! Just checking to see if anyone out there has replaced the starter on their 92 Regal. Everything I've seen looks a lot easier than what I'm looking at underneath my car. THANKS!

Sorry you haven't had an answer yet mikebruce. I'm not conversant enough in starter lore on these engines to help. Funny, but these are the only cars I've owned that I've literally never had to change out a starter on!

Uh, knock on wood of course!

Good luck. Hope you either get an answer, or you got it out already.
By the way, what is wrong with yours? Gone completely, or just giving you some trouble?

Paul

I have a 95 with a 3800 and found it doesn't come out the bottom. You have to take out the drivers side cooling fan and air filter box to bring it out the top.
It's not as bad as it sounds once you've done one.

I know it's an old thread but in case anyone is doing research.

I certainly don't mind dredging up old threads when there's some help to add!
Good advice on the removal. Like most, I'd probably wrestle with it for an hour before "seeing the light" so to speak, and spending a few minutes pulling a few more parts off, to save a bunch of minutes trying to fight it out.

Besides, it's at least still from this year!

Thanks

Paul
