3.8 V6 new vs old
#1
Hello all,
I''m new and need some info from the experts. I have a 1986 Regal with a 3.8 V6 that has almost 180,000 miles. It runs but it''s obvious that it''s in the senior stages of it''s life and I''d like to replace it. Instead of rebuilding, I have access to a wrecked 1997 Camaro that also has a 3.8 V6 but this one has EFI. Would I be able to put this engine into my Regal without using custom motor mounts, headers, etc.? I know the electronics wiring might be a headache but I think I can handle it. At this point I need to know if the basic engines are the same or similar and what installation problems I might encounter.
Thanks.
