I have to replace the belt tensioner on my 96 Regal Custom. The new one I got from Autozone is the proper one for my car. I got the old one off, but the Alternator is attached somehow and I cannot figure out how to get it off the old belter tensioner. PLEASE tell me it comes off somehow??

Figured it out.

Tap it out with a rubber mallet and the rubber handle of a screw driver. case closed. Problem solved. "Mechanic Bob" solved his own mystery. Thanks guys.
