Exclamation 1994 Buick Regal Custom "Check Gages" Light and Stalling

I have a 1994 Buick Regal Custom. I bought it from somebody with about 142000 miles on it. No major maintenance has been done on the car but a recent oil change before I got it. When I got the car, it needed a jump. We determined that it was the battery. We then replaced the battery with a new one. The car cranked fine for a while. Then one day I cranked it, the engine started, but then stalled out. The "Check Gages" light comes on only when this happens. I continued to try and start the car but it kept doing the same thing until it just stuttered as I turned the key and then the engine no longer turned over and i only heard a click. I let the car sit after that for 2 days and then tried to crank it. It started up fine. The next day it did the same thing with the car not starting and the "Check Gages" light came on again. Today I cranked it and it started fine. Battery reads fine when it does start up. Can anyone help me with finding out the problem?

Most people will look at the battery connections and and assume they look OK. That's not good enough. You need to remove the cables and actually look inside the cable connection for corrosion,,,,,,,, both cables.
