Head gasket 1970 350
Saving a 1970 350 Buick
The motor was tired to say the least.
So I have torn it down to the crank, but I threw out the old head gaskets and this turned out to be a big problem for me.
Bought a gasket set (Victor/Mahle) and when I look at the head gasket it seems that the head and block at bottom corners have water ports that are not punched out of the gasket, the kit says it covers many years starting at 1968 and also includes jeep. but this just looks wrong to me. Strange also that they do not mark the gaskets showing up or front etc.
Could use some advise, I am thinking that its just coolant so open up the gasket and let her flow, but I am no expert and do not want to eff this up. Gasket sets are expensive.
Thanks
