Default buick skylark 69

part of my vinyl roof has come away from the metal at the bottom lower edges of the rear windscreen. how do i remove the chrome strips to make a repair then refit them.

Usually we used a special tool for this purpose. If you are careful just lift up on the lower edge of the chrome strip and the trim should pop off. Some were held on with plastic clips that slipped on over a rivet head that was spot welded to the car. Some others used similiar attaching methods. When ready to reinstall the chrome trim it was usually just pressed back in place and you could hear and feel it snap in place. Once you see how they attached it the mystery will be gone.

my 69 skylark is in superb condition and needs very little work to make it A1.

its a bit premature to write it off just yet.
