Any known problems to watch out for with this car. a friend of mine is buying it and she asked me to some research on the cars. i'll be doing any mechanical repairs necessary. so, i'd like to know what i'm getting myself into. lol

depends what engine. idk if the 97 still had the quad 4. if so, i would not recomend him buying it. if it has the 3.1, then i would suggest changing the lower intake gaskets and changing the coolant to green.

one common sensor to work poorly and not throw a code, id the o2.

but removing the tb and cleaning all sensors, especially the maf, would be a good thing.

p.s. only use maf cleaner. NEVER anything stronger, like carb or brake cleaner.
