New member. Joined tonight. Has anyone put a modern 6.1 hemi and 6 speed tranny in a mid fifties Buick? I have a 2006 Chrysler SRT8 6.1 hemi. Recently I had the engine replaced under warranty and the warranty co let me keep the original motor. Turns out it is an easy rebuild Just needs main bearings and gasket kit. Started looking for a Pontiac 455 or 400 motor for my 55 Buick Special then the thought occurred to me that maybe I can put my extra 2006 6.1 Hemi in it? HAs anyone done this? If yes what all did you have to modify?
