It was a pleasure to drive those older Buicks. And not many folks knew that the starter was operated from the accelerator pedal and the radio antenna was movable from a **** at the interior top of the windshield It sure brings back some memories. I don't remember when they stopped making a stick shift for the 1950+ year Buicks , but they were a sweet little car to drive and the dash was really solid chrome plated metal not all plastic like today's cars. Does your vehicle have the Dynaflow or is it a stick shift?

Thanks everyone for the encouragement on my 50 Buick Special Dynaflow project! I just rebuilt the starter, generator and purchased a new regulator, in hopes I can get this Straight 8 to fire! Next step is to rewire everything that the varmints have been chewing on over the years, I suspect it hasn't seen the road since 1978 when it was last tagged. After that, I need a radiator, right side windshield and front floorpans. I plan to keep it as stock as possible....more updates as I go along!
