Quick antifreeze smell, 2007 Lucerne
Hello, This is my first post and my first Buick. As soon as I heard about this forum got here as quick as I could.
Last week I purchased a 2007 Buick Lucerne. It has 148k and seems to run just fine after 500 miles I like the car. What has developed in just the last couple of days is an antifreeze smell. It becomes instantly apparent right after starting the car and goes away rather quickly after driving a few minutes. I have 2 scenarios. One is my heater core is leaking but noticing the odor seems to disappear, it seems strange the that could be? The other though is antifreeze is leaking out some place under the hood, and the odor builds up so when the engine starts the scented air is pushed into the cabin of the car and the becomes after driving too obscure to notice any longer until it is parked again.
So I haven't done any looking around yet. Thought it would be wise because of the manner in which it so quickly comes and goes to as a Buick forum if my story raises any thoughts or experience with quickly passing antifreeze smell before I start digging.
Thanks Bruce
