Today Im picking up my 2006 Lucerne CXL with the V6 engine, the same engine i believe that I had in my last three Park Avenues.

In all three, I had the infamous Intake Manifold problem. Is this still a problem with these engines?

Just got our new Lucerne home, have not confirmed this but I read that the Series III 3800 has an aluminum intake. Don't have to worry about that plastic plenum going out on it if so. Not sure if that is what they were trying to achieve or not. But wouldn't hurt any! I would imagine that they can offer the 100K warrenty only if then DON"T use the plastic plenum. I have heard of some Series II's going under 80K.

I hope you both have good luck with your Lucernes. I think I would rather have the intake manifold problem than all of the problems with my Lucerne. Read on another site, that the door handles are held on with plastic clips and are beginning to fall off on some Lucernes. Hope this doesn't happen to me before I trade this piece of junk. It has been back to the dealer so many times, it has it's own parking space there.

You are on to something with the door handles.
I brought my out of warranty 2006 Lucerne in for the same problem and the dealer didnt charge me because it has been a problem on that model!
So, the bad news is the door handles fall off, good news is at least this time, I didnt get charged.
