Well,it's 8, almost 9, years old. You're very unlikely to get your money back if you sell it, but if you intend to keep it and it's otherwise sound, it might be worthwhile. 90,000 miles is no big deal if it's been cared for.

thats what i was thinking. there are no major mechanical problems with the engine or transmission or anything else under the hood and i dont plan on selling it because my fear is that some kid is going to get and total it because hes a new driver with no experience so thanks for the input

I'd say paint it. The older it gets and the nicer you keep it, the more it will be worth in the future. A car can only depreciate so much, after a while it starts to appreciate every year. A guy down the street from me bought an 87 Monte Carlo SS new for about $15,000. Well the price gradually went down for a while. Its still all original, including paint and only has 29,000 miles on it, last year it was appraised for $18,000 - $20,000. I say if you like the car it is worth fixing up, no matter what the car is actually worth, If it is worth it to you I say do it.

Ditto what 84LaSabre says. If it's worth it to you, do what ya want to it. Mine has almost 200K miles on it and she's runnin fine. It's 3.8 V6 but, no major issues at all except for what sam is helping me out with. nothing major. so, If you like it, wanna keep it, do it.

thanks for the input guys what would be a better choice restoring the factory color or getting painted a new color like black to draw attention to all the chrome.

It's usually better to repaint the same factory color unless you really don't like it. It will be less expensive and you'll likely get a better job.
