I have a 2000 LeSabre. The drivers side rear window isnt working. The motor seems to be working - I can press the switch and it will go down, but it is not smooth - it stops and starts. And it wont go back up with the switch. I can open the door and grab each side of the window and push it up, but it will fall back down about an inch or two after driving a bit.

I'm pretty sure it shouldnt be loose like this (none of the others are). Is there some cable or linkage that could be broken.

Also, how does the door panel come off?

Thanks.

George

never taken the panel off anything newer than my 97, but usuall, all it is are those "christmas tree" plastic body clips. just pull. and if they break, dont panic. theyre cheap to replace. just bring one into you parts store as an example.

but id guess that the regulator need replacing.

I finally got around to removing the door panel. It looks like the cable has a lot of slack in it and I'm not sure it should have any. When using the switch to raise the window, the pulley on the motor does not stop and the cable starts wrapping around the pulley in the other direction.

Is there anything that tells how this cable should be routed? I guess I could take the door panel off the other side, but it's kind of hard to see exactly where the cable goes.
