95 Buick Sabre will not chagrge
My niece has had three batteries, and two alternators replaced and it still won't charge. I am trying to find out if the wire coming from the alternator has a fusible link? If not can I run a new wire from the alternator to the battery? If so what wire gauge and types of ends are required? I am hoping to make the two hour drive today or tomorrow to try and recover and repair it. Thank you for any possible help.
There were three different types of alternators used in 1995 on Buicks. If the plug on the alt has three wires , it gets it's charging signal from the PCM(computer).
If all the grounds are checked and all connections are good , it could be a computer problem. If the wrong alt was installed that could also complicate things. Just replacing a wire may not correct the problem.

Well I am not sure if it has three wires or not I have never seen the car. I was hoping that maybe I could replace just the wire that sends current to the battery. I hope someone else chimes in so I don't have to make the drive just to look and figure out what harness it is. It is the correct alternator I know that for sure, jut unsure of the wiring harness.
