hello all i look foward to hearing all of your advice as i am new to this forum!! i have a 1998 lesabre with the 3800. it has 52000 miles on it! it seems to have a little power loss when i excellerate. i will push the pedal down and it will go then have a little studder it doesn't put just kinda studders and then goes but this only happens when i excellerate any ideas please help thanks

any hot start problems? if so check pressure regulator vacume side for fuel . Any corsion on ignition coil towers.Check engine light? EGR?

no there is no hot start problems no check engine light i will check the coil towers for corsion thanks

Could be coils (actually going bad even though not corroded), or also might be Throttle Position Sensor.

if the trans was going bad i would think it would have a noticable rpm increase when the power is going away because it woudl be slipping...





when was the last time the car was tuned up? a throttle response issue could certainly be somewhere in the firing system...which a full tune up could fix.\


how long has it been doing this? just recently, like since the last fill up? it could be bad gas...Edited by: Patrick

Maybe an air intake clean may help. Juste shooting carb cleaning in the air intake butterfly often help a lot.
