maybe a tranz problem?

Could be coils (actually going bad even though not corroded), or also might be Throttle Position Sensor.

if the trans was going bad i would think it would have a noticable rpm increase when the power is going away because it woudl be slipping...

when was the last time the car was tuned up? a throttle response issue could certainly be somewhere in the firing system...which a full tune up could fix.\

how long has it been doing this? just recently, like since the last fill up? it could be bad gas...Edited by: Patrick

Maybe an air intake clean may help. Juste shooting carb cleaning in the air intake butterfly often help a lot.
